Good vision is more than an exam and glasses. Sometimes you need specialized services. At Exceptional Eye Care we utilize the latest technology to provide thorough and accurate treatments for a wide range of vision issues.
Explore our treatments below then get in touch. The doctor will see you now.
Dr. Edling works in cooperation with local eye surgeons in referring patients for elective eye surgeries and in providing after care. If you have thought about having your vision corrected with laser surgery, be sure to discuss this at your next visit with us. Dr. Edling can answer questions that may help you make that decision.
The office staff will promptly send your referral if chosen to get you on the road to better vision. Dr. Edling can provide the post-op care after the surgery at Exceptional Eye Care.
In the event that you require cataract surgery, Dr. Edling will refer you to a local eye surgeon. She can also provide post operative care for those surgeries. It is important to evaluate the health of your eye after this procedure to be sure the eyes are healing properly.
Dr. Edling will monitor for ocular diseases and either treat the problem or refer you to the appropriate specialist as needed. Some common findings are cataracts, glaucoma, ocular surface disease, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, strabismus, ocular tumors, neurologic eye finding, histoplasmosis, diabetic retinopathy, trichiasis (eyelashes growing toward the eye) and many more.
Diligent monitoring is very important in helping to prevent worsening of the condition. In addition, it is often necessary to monitor a patient’s eye health when they are taking high risk medication that can have ocular side effects.
The treatment for dry eye will depend on the cause. Some treatments that are available are eye drops or ointments, over the counter and prescription, oral supplements, a heat mask to open the glands, punctal plugs, eyelid wipes, and eyelid scrubs, just to name a few. In severe cases, application of an amniotic membrane can be utilized to heal the damaged cornea.
Computer and digital screens are a way of life today. As a result, many individuals are susceptible to developing vision- related symptoms.
Uncorrected vision problems can increase the severity of computer vision syndrome (CVS) or digital eye strain symptoms, as well as glasses that aren’t properly adjusted. This can be diagnosed through a comprehensive eye exam.
Amniotic membrane is used as a biological bandage to heal or replace damaged eye tissue. Over a few days time, the amniotic membrane is absorbed by the corneal tissue, and the regenerative stem cells begin to repair the damaged ocular surface.
The placenta from which the membrane is obtained is donated by consenting mothers after giving birth. These women have been tested for health issues prior to donation.
